Can you tell us about your company? What is it that you do?
Trnds is a company that is building a fashion inspiration community. We want to help our users understand trends and discover brands and influencers when they need inspiration. What Spotify did for musical discovery, we want to do for fashion trends.
We have already raised $350,000 to develop our fashion inspiration media, built on three pillars: co-creating content with brands, creating Trnds educational content, and, finally, distributing it on our app, blog and social media.
How can your startup have an impact on the companies and audiences you work with?
The fashion industry is at a turning point. Younger customers are craving content that is more engaging than traditional lookbooks. The editorial environment, conventional modeling and unidirectional styles that are put forward in these doesn’t line up with our users’ realities.
We are thus working with fashion companies to bring them into the digital age. We help companies better connect with their consumers by providing them with a medium they can engage with and be a part of.
We are first and foremost a company that serves people. We create content to inspire and educate them, but also to give them a voice. Our blog and app are the result of our clear vision of what fashion content should be: a lively conversation between designers and their clientele.
What is your most recent success?
The launch of our Web media where everyday, our team write articles to keep our community up to date on the latest trends. We work hard to give them an engaging and accessible content.
It is for us, the best way to stay in contact with our audience and eventually make them discover our mobile app.
What advantages do you get from being part of the FTQ/QI Innovation Lab?
The Innovation Lab is an ultra-flexible entrepreneurial support entity. The QI team provides support when we need it and gives us access to an impressive list of references and contacts. In addition, the current cohort of startups is very stimulating, and the companies that are part of it go out of their way to help each other.
How do you see your future?
We see our organization becoming a fashion media with an international reach. We want to become the fashion inspiration app. What Narcity, Epicurious and Tattoodo did for local lifestyles, cooking and tattooing, we will do for fashion.
