The École de Technologie Supérieure belongs to the Université du Québec network. Specializing in applied education and research in engineering and technology transfers, it trains engineers and researchers recognized for their pragmatic and innovative approach. Since its inception, it’s had unique partnership with business and industry, both with large companies and SMEs.

Through its particular mission focused on applied engineering and its close ties with organizations, ÉTS clearly distinguishes itself from Quebec’s universities. It is also the only engineering school in Quebec that offers engineering baccalaureate programs specifically designed for college graduates wishing to acquire a university education.

With the ÉTS meeting the needs of large and small organizations, it’s not surprising that the majority of faculty members have experience working in an industrial setting. Thanks to the support of industry and granting agencies, professors continue to work in the school’s  various groups, chairs and research laboratories. Their work contributes to scientific progress and the development of Quebec's productivity and competitiveness, as well as the training of a highly skilled workforce. This multidisciplinary team is supported by 30 teachers (physics, mathematics, languages, communications, etc.) and some 200 lecturers; all recognized practitioners in their field.

In addition to its full-time and part-time undergraduate and graduate engineering programs, ÉTS is also recognized within the business sector for its Development Department. More than 3,000 executives, professionals and practicing technicians from all economic sectors attend annual intensive training seminars in the fields of quality, management, technology and information technology.
